The collaboration features the kanji ‘Oni’ motif, the symbol of the legendary chrome rock band SAMURAI from Cyberpunk 2077, as well as the ‘BARGHEST’ gang from the ‘Karisome no Jiyuu’ expansion pack.
"I usually use traditional Japanese motifs such as oni and tengu, as well as kanji logos, but with a cyber twist.
This time, I focused on harmonising ;the ‘Japanese’ elements of HiKESHi SPiRiT, the meaning of the fabric materials, the brand image and the dirty, crazy world of cyberpunk 2077.
I put a lot of effort into harmonising these elements. I went through several versions of the design, including the shape of the clothes themselves and the prints, before finally settling on the current form. In the initial design, my design was too clean and tech-oriented whilte the Japanese element was rather lacking.
I spent a lot of time trying to harmonise the elements of each brand and their individual ‘character’. In the end, we were able to create a unique design with powerful and Japanese elements such as the silhouette of hakama and the collar of kimono woven into the Cyberpunk 2077.
Please try on the sleeves and see a different you in front of the mirror."
