The Artist
JUN INOUE depicts Japan's distinctive delicate spirituality through abstract lines, creating a unique sense of "ma" (space) within his works. His exquisite sensibility, where modern aesthetics and traditional spirit intermingle, stimulates the viewer's consciousness. His ever-evolving style transcends the two-dimensional plane, merging with various fields including fashion and display design.
In 2010, he created a mural at Nike's headquarters in Portland, Oregon. In 2012, he unveiled new collaborative works and performed live painting at the MIHARAYASUHIRO Paris Collection, and also painted live at the "Worldwide Festival," Southern France's largest music festival. His work spans fashion and music, with numerous exhibitions held domestically and internationally in Melbourne, Paris, and beyond. For this piece "YAMA," he has elevated the traditional hanten into contemporary expression while respecting its heritage, under the theme of "Clothing for mountain people" and "Clothing for those who think of the mountains."
